WE ARE MOVING!
We will be one of two GP practices relocating to the new Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre this Autumn.
Together with St Johns Medical Centre, we will be moving the short distance to occupy the first floor of the modern purpose built healthcare facility in the town centre.
The new centre will benefit from free secure onsite parking and enhanced disability access, while practice staff, already excited about the state-of-the-art facility, will have increased space including additional clinical rooms, a large reception and enhanced technology.
Patient groups, local charities and the voluntary sector will also be able to benefit from the additional space within the GP practices helping to strengthen community links.
Our GP Partner, Dr Nick Macdonald, says "We are excited to move into this new purpose built modern building where we can continue to deliver holistic family medicine with continuity of care. This new state-of-the-art environment will be beneficial for patients and staff as we develop our services in line with modern primary care".
Martyn Pritchard, Accountable Officer at Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "The decisions of the past surrounding the Altrincham Health and Wellbeing Centre have been well documented., but going forward our priority is to provide residents with high quality healthcare services from the centre that meet their needs".
We will be moving in the Autumn of this year and will provide further updates as the time nears. In the meantime please take a moment to read our patient information leaflet below:
Recently Dr Macdonald and Julie Rowe, our Practice Manager took some members of our Patient Participation Group for a tour of our new premises at Altrincham Health & Wellbeing Centre.
The feedback we received from our PPG was very positive and they are excited for the move later on this year as you can tell from the happy smiley faces on the photograph!
We've updated our data privacy policies and terms and conditions (GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation)
You have probably heard about a major change to data privacy laws in the UK taking effect from 25th May 2018. The General Data Protection Regulations, known as GDPR, enable you to have more control over how your data is used and how we make contact with you.
We may already have a mobile number recorded for you on our records, obtained at the time you registered with us, or subsequently as part of our routine interaction with you. Within the parameters of this 'implied consent' we will continue to use this number to make contact with you regarding your medical care and to enable you to receive SMS messages from the surgery for appointment reminders or other matters relating to your registration as a patient at the practice. Those contact details will not be divulged to a third party. If you no longer want us to contact you in this way please inform our reception team so that your medical records can be updated. There is nothing that you need to do as unless you notify us differently, your existing contact details will remain on your GP health record for use in this way. It is also important to make sure that you tell us about any changes to your contact details as we will always use the details that we have on your record until we are informed differently.
Our updated policies also explain the following :
- The type of personal information we collect and how we use it
- The legal grounds that exist for using it
- Your rights in relation to the information we hold about you and how you can access it
Please click on the Further Information - General Data Protection Regulations tab on the right hand side for more information.
Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS)
Our practice is live on EPS. This means that we no longer need to produce paper prescriptions as they can be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your preference; where you work, live or shop regularly. There is no need to collect a paper prescription from the surgery and your medication should be ready and waiting when you go to the pharmacy to collect it. Simply contact your preferred pharmacy and they will make arrangements on your behalf.

Appointments : Please help us to help you
Huge numbers of GP and Practice Nurse appointments are wasted each year simply because they are missed. We always experience a high demand for appointments and when a patient does not attend this is a wasted opportunity for another patient to receive the medical care that they need. You can help by making sure that you either keep or cancel your appointment - the earlier that you cancel the better, but it's never too late to cancel.
*Persistent non-attendance of arranged appointments is not considered acceptable at this practice and may impact on whether you are able to obtain medical care through us
